Ightham Moat and Knole Park Circular Walk

Head out on this 13.7-km circular trail near Sevenoaks, Kent, takes in both Ightham Moat and Knole Park.

Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 h 29 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and running, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are January through October. This is a beautiful countryside trail taking you through scenic woodlands, over the farmlands, and across Knole Park. Enjoy lovely views over the North Downs and keep an eye out for wildlife, including deer and parakeets, with historic sites like Ightham Mote and Knole House to explore. Take care on the rougher sections, especially in wetter conditions when the paths become very muddy, and along the roads. Appropriate footwear is required.

The National Trust route starts and ends at Ightham Moat, but you could start from Knole House. I prefer to start/end the walk at the Bucks Head, Godden Green as parking is free, and it is nice to wind up at a pub!
